Repent... but reflect first

I told myself I must complete my HCL essay today but I spent hours in front of the computer doing other stuff -_- *sigh* Can't help it that I don't have any inspiration at this point of time. All my inspirations are unrelated to the topic I want to write... As if things can't be worse, there's this FLY that's giving people the creeps. Yes, I HATE insects, especially those that refuse to buzz off despite much warnings and attempts to swat it. Maybe it doesn't have a brain like us to think, so it has absolutely no idea how irritating it is, and what a nuisance it can be. I'd praise the fly for something it has done successfully, and that is to make me so indignant that I'm no longer in the mood nor have inspirations for my essay. WELL DONE fly. Honestly, God's love will do you much good, coz' it'll help melt your heart and wake your senses. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near (Matt 4:17). God is watching your actions and looking deep into your heart. You need not be a believer, but all, if not most, religions hold retribution true.

That was what I wanted to say 30 minutes ago. I picked up the Bible coz' I needed the verse from the Book of Matthew. I was searching through the chapters just before typing this paragraph, and the Lord taught me some things which I thought I knew. Yes, I do know those but application at all times is another thing. Perhaps it is but human nature to get carried away due to certain situations. Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also (Matt 5:39). Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matt 5:44). These few verses struck me as I glimpse through the Bible, and I know the Lord wants me to reflect on it. Some may think it's stupid to love your enemies and even let him strike your other cheek. But think about it this way. Isn't it better to breed love than to harbour hatred for others? For God teaches us to love, not to hate. Hating is a sin. We love, because God first loves us. And isn't it a great thing to win people for our Father than to pull ourselves away from His kingdom when we get involved in unnecessary conflicts? When we do, we are giving the devil a chance to tempt us into sinning, and the ugliest side of man surfaces. Alright, I'm much more calm and enlightened now. Last but not least, I'd like to present this verse to all as it is worth pondering upon:

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? ... First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. - Matthew 7:1-5
