| precaution is always better |

Parents, please be more careful with your kids. Educate them and provide supervision to a suitable and reasonable level.
Kids. Listen to your parents and exercise more caution. It's your responsibility to take care of yourselves, on top of your parents' responsibility to do so. You won't know if you're going to be the next unfortunate one, until it happens. That is when it's too late.
Yes, accidents don't always happen. Even when they do, there's one in a million chance that it'll be you or your loved one. But you won't know if you are that unlucky to possess that one in a million chance.
I can't say this is the parents' fault. When accidents happen, many factors have to be taken into account. The parents, victim, environment, luck.... All these play an important part in the whole tragedy.
Much as I don't want to admit, I think it's too cruel. And I question. Why does this have to happen?
And it is ridiculous. How can she go undiscovered all this while coz' the surroundings seemed to be such that it is quite impossible not to see her.
How long was she there? Nobody knows yet. But one thing is for sure. If she had been discovered and saved earlier, she would have a higher chance of reviving.
Is it fortunate or not, for me to be without my glasses at that time, and hence, unable to see clearly even though that someone who saved her placed her a few metres away from us. I could see the rough state but a lot of details were undetectable by the glass-less me. I know I would have nightmares if I had my glasses at that time.
There was nothing we could do. There was nothing much that the rest of the people could do. A few people with relevant knowledge rushed over to help, trying their best to salvage. But it was too late. Why couldn't she be discovered earlier?
I keep asking myself that. Or rather, this just keeps popping up in my head.
We are all very affected by it. Especially so for those who helped her.
Is there no better way to learn other than falling hard and having no second chances to make amends or salvage the situation?
Is this another instance of bystander effect? I think 50-50. Coz' I just couldn't understand how bystanders could have done nothing if they saw. It's just incomprehensible to me.
You know, Precaution is always better than cure. Coz' cure isn't always available. Which is why the dictionary contains the word "incurable".
