Taiwan: Day eight

Today's itinerary:
Paragliding

Finally, it's come to this day. Exciting, yet scary! But we almost couldn't glide coz' Blue Lagoon, the min su that liased this for us, had booked a slot for us but didn't call the day b4 to cfm =( All instructors are freelance, so they didn't inform more instructors to be on standby. It didn't help that there were other ppl who had booked to glide. Heng the instructors were nice enough not to reject us. But it meant that we had to wait to fly 2 by 2 down, since they only had 2 instructors. One of them was called out as reinforcement some more =x

But well. We'd rather wait than to forfeit the experience. Esp since we alr failed to snorkel.

Our driver, whom we unanimously think is cute, despite looking fierce. He really reminds us of someone in Popeye cartoon =p

Some time b4 my turn, I started having cold feet...

Oh God, pls 保佑我...

We're in heaven!! OMG!! SO SHIOK!!

The feeling and view is so cool lah omg! Makes me feel like flying again now.

梦想起飞!

There's a bunch of ppl playing baseball on our landing ground, and the instructors flying the girls b4 me had to siam them.

And guess what. They are actually the crew on the garbage truck, having some leisure timeout during their break. Kinda cool to see this kind of lifestyle.

Then 校长 dropped by to say hi =)

Coachie and his wife actually run a min su! And the name's the same as his nick (路易士).

While waiting for the last 2 girls to descend, Coachie's wife invited us to their house, and we cycled and walked the dog.

Though I did wonder if the dog was walking me instead -.- Heng I had prior experience with dogs who go keesiao and chiong when you bring them out for walks.

Still so sweet as ever~~ Coachie and his wife really make a very cute couple XD

Our flight could have been longer, I think, coz' we were told by our min su it was 15 min. But given the lack of instructors, the queue of appointments, the misty and drizzling weather, and the arrival of evening, I guess there's no choice but to cut it to 5-7 min =[

But well, at least we satisfied our hunger for flying!
Now can go check in to our next min su and have dinner!

The min su owner, 黎老板, was very nice and drove us out for dinner nearby. A spread of 7 dishes and 1 soup cost only NTD250 (~SGD11) per person. And it's all seafood. There were even weird fishes that we've never eaten or heard b4. What puffer fish, flying fish, shark...

The only gripe was there were weird insects flying ard x_x I thought I was filming some sci-fi show where Earth got invaded by some weird species.

And I dunno if the rest noticed... There were a few flattened toads on the road outside the place... =x

So yes, we have truly arrived at a countryside place.

----------
Accommodation: 蓝色珊瑚礁 (Blue Lagoon)
Rating: 4.5/5.
Pros: Simple contemporary touch to the house, settled amidst the arms of nature. There are vast patches of grasslands, mountains, Pacific Ocean, private beach, nice host.... I'd say the house is almost akin to a villa, ideal for a short getaway from the bustling city life. Still affordable but might be out of budget for budget backpackers.
Cons: Inaccessibility (2 hours from city), which is exchanged for the tranquility and nature. Will need either a bicycle (3 available at the minsu) or a driver or the host to get around the area. But to me the biggest con is the insects.
