Today's itinerary: 剑湖山世界 -> 桂林
Finally arrived at Yunlin after a night-long ride. The lady boss from our minsu came to pick us up from the train station :)
When we reached our minsu, it was another arduous climb up 3 storeys with our humongous luggages *faint* Our room was simple, clean, and homely. Not quite as fanciful as the ones in Hualien, but more homey feel. And the bathroom has this spa shower head thingy! But we didn't get to try ultimately :(
On to the amusement park, which was our purpose for stopping by Yunlin for 1 nite :)

Some of the rides we challenged.
From left in clockwise: Diving machine 飞天潜艇G5, 摇摆康康, 旋转木马, 天女散花.
I was the only sane one who didn't go onto the diving machine. I'll probably die in my seat if I had to chiong face-down at full speed from the top to underground, and up again. Watch also will heart attack -.-
In the end I only took the revolving swing, viking, and frisbee (something like a revolving viking). Roller coaster was under maintenance, but I wouldn't have gone on to it anw, coz' it's a 360deg one O_o
The rest would have gone for more thrills, like space shot, inverter, etc, if not for the fact that the previous rides alr made them @_@
Which is why the park has to have this.

The dreamy carousel~~
It has 3 levels!! But only 1st level was opened on the day we went, as it's off-peak :(
After lunch we went to Cheryl's fav - the water park. Where lazy river wasn't that lazy afterall (we had to push ourselves here and there, or get stuck), and resounding screams could be heard trailing down the winding long slides =p
Speaking of screaming, we were about the only ones who emitted some sounds during any of the rides. The locals seemed to be perfectly fine being tossed and turned and whatever on the rides, they were so calm and, stoic. And I was screaming like almost every second on the viking and frisbee, for my life while they watched on in amusement.
My fav bball machines!

I finally spotted something cute enough for my liking in the UFO machines, after 10 days in TW!
Which I willingly gave tribute to the machines with no rewards :'(
But HQ caught a snail!

The boss and lady boss came to pick us up around 6+, after which they brought us to watch fireflies =D Yay!!
 A firefly('s light)!
We had to wait for about 30-45 min for the sky to darken b4 we can spot any fireflies. The sunset was quite pretty on the hill :) And!! B4 we saw fireflies, we saw a FLYING SQUIRREL!! Boss said there are flying squirrels in the hill, but seldom can see. So lucky for us to see one flying across!! XD
The hill we were at.
Thx to Cheryl's super powerful blinding flash (again) lol.
We had a simple, fulfilling, and cheap dinner at boss' friend's eatery near the minsu. The family there were very friendly, and the lady boss gave us free flow rice after we declined her offer for 1 free dish coz' we were afraid we couldn't finish so many dishes. She even insisted on driving us back to the minsu. You just got to love Taiwanese (most of them anw) =p
Time for a night time coffee treat, credits to the boss who specializes in coffee =D

All satisfied and happy faces after the caffeine perk =D

One side of the living room wall was full of graffiti, but they were all well-wishes and msgs left by previous customers. So cool rite? :)

So how can we not add on ours too?
Credits to Fang, for the piece of artwork =D
Close-up.

Can you guess who is who? =D
---------- Accommodation: 驿站民宿 Rating: 4.5/5. Pros: The hosting couple were extremely nice, hospitable, and grandparent-ly. The house and room may not be as fanciful or nicely decorated as the previous min-sus, but the touch of home is more intense here. Not to mention there's great fresh coffee, puddings, and biscuits! Cons: Not too sure about accessibility as we got the hosts to pick us up. I know can take bus there, but not sure how long is the walk from the bus stop. Other than that, generally no cons :)Labels: grad trip 2010, taiwan, travel
