Taiwan: Day fourteen
Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 11:07 PM

Today's itinerary:
Morning train from Taichung to Taipei -> 士林夜市

It's amazing how we all can wake up this early (but well, we HAVE to) in TW just to catch all these trains -.- And how we have accustomed to having breakfast on the go, while waiting for trains or on the trains.

Totally random, but cute haha.

Back to TaiwanMex! But no more mini house available when we booked b4 we left Taipei, so we just took 2 rooms with common facilities....

And a big fat cat called 美女 O.o

Eh, this 美女 got a portrait of it hung in the common living room ok. And it's seriously huge. So huge that it can squash the dachshund we saw at Fengjia.

Then the highlight of the day.... Shihlin night market!!

Yes. Shihlin again =]

Night markets are a big part of life and culture of TW, and it's interesting that every night market sells some different things/flavors, and the atmosphere and feel are different as well.

Previously we didn't have time to explore the entire area, and only had fun at the indoor food area. Hence, the vow (with Cheryl as a strong advocator) to revisit Shihlin after we travel 1 round back to Taipei =D And this time we went to the outdoor shopping streets too!! It's somewhat like Fengjia, but things in Taipei are more expensive most of the time.

And we can never have enough of these 2 things:

豪大大鸡排 again. Followed by 蚵仔煎 & 虾仁煎 from this stall, 大头龙, where 罗志祥 learnt to make the omelette for his drama 转角遇到爱.

Of coz' those were not enough to make us feel like we've eaten something. We need MORE.

Shihlin was rather quiet tonight, likely due to the rain though it's a sunday night. The outdoor pasar malam also wasn't set up due to the rain. Such a different feel from the 1st time we came.

Our last nite in TW... This trip is finally coming to an end. Kinda 不舍...

But a bathroom incident cracked us all up (at the expense of that person...).
To protect my NUSSU member and also myself from getting killed/sued, I shall not narrate the incident here, nor name people =p

Anw, the bathrooms were actually those kind of transportable make-shift cubicles (fear not, it's safe and has heater) on the balcony. Yes, the big open-air balcony. But it's kinda cool to bathe there. How many times can we get the chance to bathe on a BALCONY?

We decided to stay awake since it's our last nite, but in the end nobody could tahan, and the remaining people went to sleep at 5+am, with me wishing as I dozed off, that morning would not arrive.

---------
Accommodation: TaiwanMex Guesthouse (common dorm)
Rating: 3.5/5.
Pros: Fairly clean rooms. And if you're lucky, you might get handsome/pretty neighbours from anywhere across the globe ;) As this is a common dorm, you can mingle and make new friends. If you're anti-social like me, then better choose the mini house.
Cons: The whole place was a bit small and cramped. Esp the rooms. Had to take turns to pack our luggages haha.
