Taiwan: Day one

FINALLY. This day has come for us to embark on my (2nd) grad trip to Taiwan (again)!
Bye Singapore!

The kind of stupid things we did on the boring flight.
[And before we took off...
PW: "My resolution for this trip is no unglam photos!!"]

Hello Taiwan!

Ain't you glad we're short, YH...

We touched down a lil earlier, and then we saw...
"A comfortable 21 deg C".
A shocking 21 deg C.

The real nightmare began when HQ PW and I left Cheryl and YH at some corner of this unbelievably vast 台北車站, in the quest of buying sat's train tickets to Hualien. Navigating to the train station area to buy the tickets was fairly ok. Buying tickets was not, and let's just say train tickets is one thing I really dislike about Taiwan. Navigating back to where we left the girls and our luggages was worst. God knows how many turns we made, and how lost we felt when we simply couldn't find our way back, and no passersby were of help. But of coz' it was our fault that we didn't take note of the landmarks of that spot, so we couldn't even ask for directions to wherever.

I forgot how, but we finally made it back. Imagine our relief.... Then we exited the station, only to realize it was raining -.- And of coz', we had to trod through the rain to our hostel TaiwanMex. It was already around 10pm when we reached, and they didn't actually have the independent mini house for 6 pax ready for us. Not that it really mattered at that point in time to us, since we were super tired from the station adventure, and we just had to put up in 2 separate rooms with a common shared lounge with other rooms' guests for a nite. We still had decent privacy.

Our very small and cramped room. But well, it was cozy. Cozy enough to monkey around haha.

Our very first meal in Taiwan.... KFC -.-
But the egg tarts were really nice! Coz' we strode in and ordered the food which were prepared on the spot fresh for us, when they were closing in 15 min's time =p But they were very nice to us still =)

And the 5 of us ended up squeezing into the 4-man room, with PW sleeping on the couch.
